Pakistan to take step to stop sugar smuggling

Pakistan’s Punjab Industries Minister SM Tanveer provided assurance to the sugar and ethanol industry regarding the resolution of their issues, reports Brecoder

Furthermore, he declared that steps would be taken to curb sugar smuggling and ensure the availability of sweeteners to the public at reasonable prices.

During a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office to deliberate on sugar prices in Punjab and the challenges confronted by the sugar industry, he conveyed these messages.

The attendees of the meeting included Secretary of Food Muhammad Zaman Watto, Additional Secretary of Commerce, DG Industries, and relevant officials. Javed Kiani, Chaudhry Waheed, and other representatives from the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association also took part in the session.
