Mandya, Karnataka: Boiler inauguration and Bhoomi Puja of the Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Karkhane (PSSK) will take place on August 11, said Murugesh Nirani, Chairman of Nirani Sugars Group.
Speaking to media persons he said, “Preparations for the re-opening of the factory is almost complete. The Boiler inauguration and the ‘Bhoomi Puja’ for the enhancement of Sugarcane crushing capacity to 5,000 tonnes per day, will be performed on August 11.”
The factory was a lifeline for thousands of farmers. It got shut down many years ago after mill ran into losses. The mill will be on lease for the period of 40 years. The farmers were facing trouble due to the closure of the mill, but once the factory resume operation, it is likely to benefit the cane growers.
