Pappu Yadav demands to start Riga sugar mill

Sitamarhi: Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, National president of Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) has warned that if the Riga sugar mill is not revived by February 15, then he will launch fast unto death. He made the statement while addressing the gathering of farmers and workers at the football ground in Riga.

During the meeting, he discussed the issues related to cane farmers and workers. The farmers told him that the sugar mills have not yet paid their cane dues and farmers are facing hardship to meet their daily needs.
Addressing the gathering, Yadav said, “The government should take immediate steps to force millers to clear the pending cane dues of the farmers. Today out of 29 sugar mills in the state, only 10 are operating.”

“We want the government to announce to start operations at the Riga sugar mill by February 15 else we will be forced to launch agitation further,” he further added.
