PAU inks pact for commercialisation of sugarcane juice bottling technology

Ludhiana: Punjab Agriculture University has signed an agreement with M/S Cocoland International LLP, Jamnagar, a company based in Gujarat for the commercialization of sugarcane juice bottling technology.

According to the TribuneIndia.com, Dr NS Bains, Director of Research, PAU, and Mr Tasim Pasta signed the memorandum of agreement, according to which the university has offered non-exclusive rights to the above mentioned company for the bottling of sugarcane juice by PAU within India. The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr AS Dhatt, Additional Director of Research (Horticulture and Food Science) and Associate Director, Technology Marketing and IPR Cell, PAU.

The microorganisms in the juice are killed by using thermal processes that help in increasing the shelf life. This makes the product healthy and hygienic as compared to the roadside vendors.
