Philippines records increase in sugar production in October

Manila: Sugar production in the country has witnessed an increase in the last two months as per the data released by the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA).

The SRA figures indicate that sugar production has increased by 39.12% this season up to October 24 compared with the same period last year. Sugar production has been increased from 132,746 metric tonnes (MT) to 184,674 MT.

The sugar crop year in the Philippines begins in September and ends in August. For the current crop year, the SRA estimates raw sugar production to reach 2.0997 million MT.
