Philippines: Smuggled sugar worth P16 seized in Subic

Subic Bay: Personnel of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized smuggled sugar worth P16.7 million at the Port of Subic on Friday, reports Philstar.com

The BOC officials said that they received a tip from the sources that the shipment carrying a plastic trash bag and floor mops was loaded with sugar. BOC district collector Maritess Martin said that acting on the information the team inspected the shipment and found that it was loaded with sugar. The shipment belonged to the Multi-Subsonic Marketing Company, said BOC.
