Prof Narendra Mohan’s book on sugar industry released by Harcourt Butler Technical University’s VC

A book entitled “Techniques of Crystallization and Centrifugation in Sugar Industry” (“चीनी उद्योग मे क्रिस्टलीकरण एवं अपकेंद्रण की तकनीक”) written by Prof. Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, Kanpur in Hindi language was released by Prof. Shamser, Vice Chancellor, Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur in a function organized at the Institute. In his address Prof. Shamser while lauding the efforts being made by Prof. Mohan in the area of technical education, said that the sugar industry is the backbone of rural economy in which large number of technical personnel belonging to rural areas work. Hence, such book is very timely and shall be of immense utility for the students of Hindi speaking areas. There is a vacuum of books written by the Indian authors in Sugar Technology and Sugar Engineering disciplines and this is the sixth book in a row by Prof. Mohan, which itself speaks of his commitment towards uplifting the status of sugar industry, said Prof. Shamser.

In his address, Prof. Mohan said that this particular book has been written specially for the students of Sugar Boiling Certificate Course and for those working at sugar boiling stations in sugar factories. In this course a large number of students from Hindi speaking rural areas undertake admission and in the absence of any such book, they used to feel lot of difficulties. This book will give them not only an idea about the technique of crystallization and centrifugation but also about the latest machinery which is used for the purpose, he said.
