Raju Shetti sets November 5 deadline

Kolhapur: Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana President Raju Shetti has warned state government to complete damage assessment of the crops including sugarcane by November 5 and has threatened to launch a statewide agitation if the government fails to do so.

He said, “Heavy rainfall in the state has damaged crops. The government has not yet completed the assessment of the crops. The insurance companies pay for damages only after assessment and farmers are facing problems as their standing crops are decaying, and they are left with no funds to pay bank loans.”

“We are organising Sugarcane conference on November 3 in which we will felicitate our MLA Devendra Bhuyar. We will wait till November 5 and then launch Swabhimani style agitation if the government fails to complete Panchnamas,” Shetti further added.
