Saraswati sugar mill to commence sugarcane crushing on October 31

Yamunanagar, Haryana: Saraswati sugar mill in Yamunanagar, India, is set to begin sugarcane crushing on October 31, but farmer leader Sanju Gundiana has warned that if the construction work on roads connecting the sugar mill is not completed on time, farmers will take to the streets to protest, reported Dainik Bhaskar.

Seventy percent of the sugarcane for crushing at sugar mill comes from this road.

Gundiana said that the construction work on the road started late and has not progressed at the desired pace. If the road is not completed on time, it will cause inconvenience to farmers.

“Farmers are ready for sugarcane crushing,” Gundiana said. “However, if sugarcane cannot be transported from this road, crushing will be affected. If the road is not completed on time, farmers will take to the streets to protest.”
