Sensex Down 103 Points, Nifty at 11,329

The benchmark indices opened lower on Thursday, tracking subdued Asian markets, amid increased tensions ahead of key China-US trade negotiations. Subdued corporate results and caution ahead of national election outcome also weighed on the indices. For the seventh consecutive session, Indian equity market extended losses led by decline in Power, Pharma, Energy indices. Currently Sensex is trading down by 103.53 at 37,685.60 and Nifty is trading 29.75 points down at 11,329.70.

Top gainers on the morning session are Reliance Communications, Zee Entertainment, Hero MotoCorp, Titan, Wipro and Bajaj Auto. Relaince Industries, BPCL, Yes Bank, NTPC, Dr Reddy, MRPL, Suzlon, CG Power and Biocon are among the top losers in the morning trade.

It is weak start for the benchmark indices on May 9 with Nifty opened around 11,300 level.
At 09:17 hrs IST, the Sensex is down 150.24 points at 37638.89, while Nifty down 39.70 points at 11319.80.
