Sensex falls over 250 points

Mumbai: Domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex today falls over 250 points in early trade on July 9, 2019. After dropping over 253 points in the opening session, the BSE Sensex was trading at 152.50 points lower at 38,568.07 at 9.30 am. Similarly Nifty fell 49.25 points to 11,509.35.

Top losers in the Sensex pack included TCS, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, HUL, Axis Bank, falling up to 2.19 per cent.

PowerGrid, NTPC, Sun Pharma, Yes Bank, Vedanta were among the top gainers, rising up to 2.90 per cent.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee falls 17 paise to 68.83 against the US dollar.

The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.22 per cent higher at 63.97 per barrel.
