Mumbai: Sensex today on Monday was trading 269 points higher at 40,434.83 to hit a new all-time high, while NSE Nifty surged 75.85 points at 11,966.45 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:20 am, Sensex was trading at 40,369 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,961 points.
Vedanta, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, HCL Tech, Sun Pharma and Bharti Airtel were among the top gainers.
Yes Bank, Infosys, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and HUL were among the top losers.
On the currency front, the rupee appreciated 16 paise against the US dollar to trade at 70.65 in early session.
