Sensex, Nifty make record closing for second day

Mumbai: Indian markets ended at a record close for the second straight session.

Sensex closed on January 14 at 92.94 points higher at 41,952.63 to hit new record high. Similarly, Nifty ended 32.75  points up at 12,362.30 to touch a new all-time high.

Vedanta, Britannia Industries, Hero MotoCorp, ITC and Zee Entertainment were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers include Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, UPL, Reliance Industries and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

In the previous season, Sensex closed on January 13 at 259.97 points higher at 41,859.69. Similarly, Nifty ended 72.75 points up at 12,329.55.

The rupee is trading at 70.863 against the dollar.
