Mumbai: Sensex today on Friday was trading 136.83 points higher at 40,265.88, while NSE Nifty surged 33.90 points at 11,911.35 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:14 am, Sensex was trading at 40,155 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,884 points.
IndusInd Bank, Hero Motocorp Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, ITC and Infosys were among the top gainers.
Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Yes Bank, TCS, RIL and SBI were among the top losers.
On the currency front, the rupee depreciated 4 paise against the US dollar to trade at 70.96 in early session.
