Sensex and Nifty rebound on positive global cues

Mumbai: Indian shares opened higher on Wednesday led by gains in index heavyweights RIL and HDFC amid positive cues from other global markets.

Sensex today on 14th August 2019 was trading 122.51 points higher at 37,080.67 at 9:30 am. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty today surged 35.30 point points at 10,961.15.

Tata Steel, Vedanta, Yes Bank, Bajaj Finance, Hero MotoCorp, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Auto, RIL and HDFC were among the top gainers rising up to 3.53 per cent.

Sun Pharma, PowerGrid, Maruti, HCL Tech, TCS and Kotak Bank were among the top losers falling up to 4.26 per cent.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee appreciated 51 paise to 70.89 against the US dollar.

The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 1.09 per cent lower at 60.63 per barrel.
