Equity benchmark Sensex jumped nearly 300 points in opening trade on Monday.
The 30-share BSE index touched its lifetime intra-day high of 48,168.22 in early trade. At 10:02 am, it was trading 257.46 points higher at 48,126.44, and the broader NSE Nifty surged 83.65 points to 14,102.15.
TCS was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by ONGC, SBI, L&T, Infosys, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank.
On the other hand, HDFC, Asian Paints and Reliance Industries were among the laggards.
