Southwest monsoon covers Telangana, heavy rain likely in next 48 hours

Hyderabad, Jun 22 (UNI) Southwest monsoon covered entire Telangana on Saturday, Meteorological Department said.

In a bulletin here, it warned that heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana during the next 48 hours and the same situation will prevail in Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at many places or at few places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next five days.

Southwest monsoon has been normal in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.

Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in the district Kurnool of Rayalaseema and in the district of Kamareddy of Telangana during the same period.

Rain occurred at a few places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and at isolated places In Rayalaseema during the same period, the bulletin added.

In Telangana, the highest maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius was recorded at Bhadrachalam, while the lowest minimum temperature of 19 degree Celsius was recorded in Medak.

In Hyderabad, the maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 37 and 23 degrees Celsius respectively, the bulletin said.

The highest maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius was recorded in Kavali of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and the lowest minimum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kalingpatnam of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, the bulletin added.
