Sugar millers delegation to visit Biogas plants in Germany

J & F Biogas is organizing a visit for Sugar mills from India to visit biogas plants in Germany from 20th to 22nd of June 2022. Sugar mills and investors in India are currently actively evaluating the possibility of setting up a CBG/BioCNG (compressed biogas) plant using feedstock like press mud and paddy straw. Germany has the largest number of biogas plants in the world.

Majority of the biogas plants designed by the J & F team in Germany are operating on a CSTR (continuous stirred tank reactor ) based Semi dry fermentation process. Semi dry fermentation can process substrates with higher dry matter such as press mud and paddy straw. Semi dry fermentation process requires reduced digester size, lesser operating costs, and minimal water requirement for processing the organic feedstocks.

As part of the visit J & F biogas will organize a visit to one of the largest CSTR semi dry fermentation plants in operation in Germany where biogas is upgraded to high quality methane of 17,000 cbm and the purified biogas is injected into the natural gas grid. 3 MWe power using a Biogas CHP engine is also generated in the same plant.

J & F Biogas would like to invite sugar mill management, representatives from sugar mills and others interested in India to participate in this visit. Required documents and invitations for processing the business visas will be provided by the J&F Biogas team in Germany. If sugar mills prefer to travel at earlier/later dates or individually, arrangements for such visits can also be made.
