Sugar mills in Punjab to start cane crushing from November 20

Chandigarh: Punjab agriculture minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that sugar mills in Punjab will start cane crushing operations from November 20, reports The Times of India.

He also said that the state government has increased the rate of sugarcane and issued the notification in this regard.

According to the media reports, The Bhagwant Mann-led government increased the price of advanced, medium and late-quality cane to Rs 380 per quintal, Rs 370 per quintal and Rs 365 per quintal respectively.
