Bijnor: Sugarcane farmers stage protest for change of purchase centers to other sugar mills

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Farmers in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh are protesting for the change of their purchase centers. The farmers are demanding that their purchase centers be allocated to other sugar mills instead of the Bilai Sugar Mill, reported Amar Ujala.

The protest is being organised by the Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan. The union’s district president, Vinod Kumar Bittu, said that the farmers’ demands are being ignored, but they will not end the protest until their purchase centers are allocated to other mills.

The farmers who have joined the protest have raised their problems. They said that they are struggling financially due to the non-payment of sugarcane prices on time and are not paid on time. They demanded that farmers should be allowed to sell their crops anywhere.

The protest was attended by Yashpal Singh, Anil Kumar, Rishipal Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Dhyyan Singh, Sujaan Singh, and Bhim Singh.
