Sugarcane farmers urged to sow improved varieties of sugarcane for higher yields

Ahirauli Bazar, Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh): Farmers in Pakri village were acquainted about sugarcane sowing at a meeting held on Tuesday. The meeting was organized by the Ganna Kisan Sansthan, Pipraich.

Speaking on the occasion, Om Prakash Gupta, Assistant Director of the Ganna Kisan Sansthan, Pipraich, appealed to the farmers to sow improved varieties of sugarcane for higher yields. He also advised them to treat the two-eye cuttings with Trichoderma solution before planting.

Gupta further said that intercropping with crops like onion, garlic, and okra can help farmers double their profits.

Ramesh Singh, Secretary of the Committee, spoke about sugarcane supply and payment.

The meeting was presided over by SN Tripathi, Vice-President of the Management Committee.

Other speakers included Cane Supervisors Navneet Rai, Sunil Kumar, Vineet Singh, Shyamnarayan Tripathi, Rakesh Singh, and Keshav Pandey.

Village heads Praveen Singh, Brahma Singh, Rajan Mishra, Rampravesh Singh, and Shibban Singh were also present.
