Tikait warns BKU’s protest would continue till cane dues are paid

Shamli (UP): Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Rakesh Tikait warned that the dharna and demonstration would continue until the farmers’ outstanding sugarcane price was not paid.

The farmers and BKU workers had blocked the road leading to the district collectorate by parking their tractors on it on Tuesday. They have been protesting for their demands from the last several days.

Tikait reached the collectorate on a tractor and participated in the ongoing Dharana launched for pending cane dues.

The agitations continued as the discussion between Tikait and government officials including the district Sugarcane Officer, Mill Officers and Administrative Officers ended without any assurance.
