UP minister denies allegations of pressuring sugar mill for contracts

Pilibhit: Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Singh Gangwar has denied the charges levelled by the official of the L H Sugar Factories Ltd that he was putting pressure to award contracts as per his wishes, reports news agency PTI.

K B Sharma, the chief manager of the mill has alleged that he was pressurized by the minister for awarding contracts as per the minister’s wish.

Denying the charges, the minister for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Mills said that he is preparing to file a defamation case against the chief manager and the mill is creating the drama to divert the ongoing investigation of a scam worth crores of rupees by the company.

Sharma had organised a press conference and alleged that the minister humiliated him and issued death threats after his wishes for awarding contracts were not met.

The minister stated that the investigation against the mill has been started after people complained to me about the scam and I passed on the information to the government. The mill is now doing drama to influence the investigation, he said.
