US denies commenting on Pakistan’s decision of not importing sugar from India

The United States on Tuesday said that it promotes India and Pakistan to have a direct dialogue between them on the issues that are concerning them.

The state department has decided not to comment on the recent decision of the Pakistan Cabinet not to import sugar from India.

Ned Price, State Department spokesperson said, “I wouldn’t want to comment on that specifically”.

“We support the direct dialogue between India and Pakistan on the issues that are concerning them,” he said.

The Pakistan Cabinet had on April 1 turned down the recommendations of a high-powered committee to import sugar from India.
