Uttar Pradesh government to modernize the sugar mills

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government has planned to modernize the sugar mills, distillery plants, production of sulphur-free sugar, and increasing sugarcane yield and sugar production in a phased manner in its blueprint for the next five years, reports The Pioneer.

As per the blueprint, the government plans to modernize 14 sugar mills of Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Sugar Mills Federation Limited. The work will be done in several phases and in the first phase, the mills in Satha (Aligarh), Sultanpur, and Maharajganj-Nautanwa will be modernized in 2022-23.

In the second phase, the government plans to modernize the sugar mills of Bilaspur in Kasganj, Seemakheda in Bareilly, and Burhanpur in Pilibhit. Sugar mills at Ghosi in Mau, Mahmudabad of Sitapur, Bisalpur of Pilibhit, and Badaun will be modernized in the third phase in 2024-25.

The sugar mills at Kasganj in Farrukhabad, Morna in Muzaffarnagar, and Tilhar in Shahjahanpur and Baghpat will be modernized in the final phase.
