Jalandhar, Punjab: The sugarcane farmers in the district want a higher price on sugarcane. Recently, keeping in view the interest of sugarcane farmers, the Cabinet approved a hike in the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane for sugar season 2020-21 at Rs. 285 per quintal for a basic recovery rate of 10 per cent.
According to the news report published in Tribuneindia.com, cane growers have urged the state government to hike the prices by Rs 50 per quintal.
