Man arrested for duping sugar trader

Indore: Crime Branch has arrested a man from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly duping a sugar trader of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing sugar, reports The Free Press Journal.

According to police, the trader identified as Sanjay Kumar Patidar has lodged a complaint in this regard.

Patidar stated that he came across the firm through a company website. After contacting the number posted on the website, a person who posed as the owner of the firm told him that he want to sell his sugar. The manager of the company identified as Gyaneshwar contacted Patidar and sent him details of the company on his WhatsApp number.
The complainant asked the manager to send a sugar sample and after confirming the quality of sugar he placed an order to purchase 13 tons of sugar. Patidar paid advance to the bank account of the accused to confirm the deal. After transferring the amount to the bank account of the accused, the complainant found that his mobile phone was switched off. He later realized that he was conned and rushed to the local police station and lodged a complaint in this regard.

The Crime Branch immediately took action and arrested one identified as Krishnamohan Pande alias Rajan, a resident of UP state for cheating the trader.
