Brazil CS 2018/19 Sugar Output To Plunge 17 Pct As Mills Opt For Ethanol -JOB

NEW YORK, May 7 (Reuters) – Brazilian consultancy JOB Economia forecast at an industry event on Monday during New York โ€œSugar Weekโ€:

* Brazil center-south sugar output will total 30 million tonnes in the current 2018/19 harvest, vs 36.1 million tonnes in the previous year

* Brazil center-south ethanol production seen at 28 billion liters, vs 26.09 billion liters in 2017/18

* On the demand side, Brazilโ€™s domestic use of ethanol will jump while exports of sugar will be โ€œtimid,โ€ according to prepared remarks from JOB Economia Chief Executive Officer Julio Borges (Reporting by Chris Prentice, Editing by Rosalba Oโ€™Brien)
