Bijnor: A joint team of Income Tax, Enforcement Directorate and GST officials conducted a raid at Bindal Sugar Mill in Bijnor on Wednesday, Bhaskar reported.
Arriving in several vehicles, the officials entered the premises and immediately took control of operations, seizing mobile phones of staff from the IT and accounts departments. They then began a detailed scrutiny of financial and tax-related documents.
The team, which reportedly came from Ghaziabad, is examining records linked to income tax and GST compliance.
During the raid, several mill officials and employees were found missing, with some reportedly switching off their phones or avoiding the premises.
Sources said the probe has been extended to other units of the Bindal Group, including paper mills, distillery operations, and residential premises linked to the company.
Police personnel were deployed at the site to maintain law and order, while the large-scale operation drew attention in the area.
No official statement has been issued by the mill management so far, according to Bhaskar.
