Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad district administration has recommended the sugar commissioner to take action against the Modi sugar mill which has failed to clear sugarcane dues to the cane growers, according to an official. District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey has asked the sugar commissioner to issue recovery certificate against the mill.
Sugarcane officer Krishan Kant told news agency PTI, “The mill has cleared only Rs 87 crore till December 7, and at present Rs 182.78 crore is due on Modi mills’ management along with interest.”
“Revenue department will attach the property of mill owners after receiving the recovery certificate,” he said.
