Administration asks sugar mills to pay Rs 90 crore cane dues till Diwali

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh: Sugar mills in the district have been instructed to pay Rs 90 crore rupees till Diwali. Sugarcane crushing season has begun in the district and almost all the mills have started crushing operations. The district is one of the leading regions in the state in clearing cane dues.

According to the news report published in Jagran.com, District cane officer Dr. R D Dwivedi said that Morna, Khatauli, Titawi, Mansurpur, Rohana, Tikaula, Bhaisana and Khaikheda sugar mills from the district had to pay Rs 3402.93 crore to the cane farmer. They have cleared Rs 2556.09 crore. A further payment of Rs 36.45 crore has been made till November 4.

The administration has asked the cane farmers to pay Rs 90 crore to the cane farmers before Diwali.
