After cyclone, Central team visits Puducherry to assess damages to crops and others

Puducherry: A four-member central team visited the Puducherry amid heavy rains to assess the flood-hit areas and damage to the crops in the region caused by Cyclone Nivar. The team was led by Ashutosh Agnihotri, secretary (CTS & IS-II).

The team visited the Ramanathapuram and Pathukannu villages where the farmers showed them the damaged sugarcane and paddy crops. The farmers met the team with the damaged crops and urged them to provide adequate compensation. The team also visited the Sanadipudhukuppam village and assessed the damaged crops.

The team left for Tamil Nadu after consulting with the chief minister V Narayanasamy and Lt Governor Kiran Bedi.
