Agriculture and cane department officials keep hawk eye on crop residue burning incidents

Bijnor: The satellite recording has revealed that around 4600 incidents of crop residue burning have occurred in the state this season. The Agriculture and cane department officials are using the satellites to keep check on these types of incidents to improve the air quality index.

The cane commissioner had earlier issued notices to the district cane officers of eight districts including Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar and Meerut to keep check the incidents of stubble burning.

The air pollution in Delhi and NCR increase during the winter due to the burning of garbage and crop residue.

According to the news report published in The Times of India, as per the data from the agriculture department, the satellite monitoring has found a total 79,693 incidents of crop residue in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh till November 30.
