Bharatiya Kisan Union urges sugar mills to concludes crushing season after harvesting all sugarcane in the region

Muzaffarnagar: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) national spokesman Rakesh Tikait has urged the sugar mills in the region to continue cane crushing operations till entire sugarcane crop is not harvested. He has reached out among the farmers to hear their problems after the huge crowd was gathered for supplying sugarcane in the IPL sugar mill.

Tikait visited the IPL sugar mill premises on Thursday with dozens of supporters and met farmers and listened to their grievances.
After discussing the issues with farmers, he met the mill administration and asked them to continue the operations till the sugarcane crop is standing in the fields.

He said, “The mill administration should work in cooperation with sugarcane farmers. If mills plan to close operations before crushing all sugarcane grown in the region, we will launch agitation against them.”
