Bihar government focuses on increasing ethanol production

Araria, Bihar: Sugarcane minister Pramod Kumar said that the government is taking several steps to increase ethanol production in the state.

According to the news report published in Livehindustan.com, while talking to reporters, he said, “The state government is making constructive efforts in the direction of making ethanol from sugarcane and maize. The government is planning to set up ethanol production plants in all the districts. Investors from across the country are interested in investing in Bihar to set up ethanol plants. Our government is trying its best to double farmers’ income.”

Recently, Industry minister Shahnawaz Hussain had said, “Bihar government has received proposals worth Rs 30,000 crore to set up ethanol manufacturing plants.”

Bihar is the first state in the country that has announced the ethanol production policy. The state is promoting ethanol production with an aim to become one of the leading ethanol producers in the country.
