Bihar plans to revive closed sugar mills

Patna: Bihar government is planning to revive the closed sugar mills that will help in generating employment as well as increase sugar production in the state.

Pramod Kumar, Sugarcane industry minister from the state said, “We are planning to revive the closed sugar mills in the state that will help sugarcane farmers to have more options to send their cane for crushing at these sugar mills. Those who want to set up sugar mills in Bihar are welcome. All facilities would be provided to them.”

“Apart from this, our aim is to increase ethanol production in the state using sugarcane crops. It will help to achieve the ethanol production target set by the Central government,” he said.
