Bijnor: Maintenance work starts in sugar mills; crushing season likely to commence from November

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugar mills have geared up the preparations to start cane crushing operations from October end or the first week of November. The mills commenced the repair and maintenance work to ensure no interruption occurs during the upcoming season.

There are nine sugar mills in the district that procure cane from the farmers for crushing. As per estimation sugarcane output will remain the same as the previous season. Last year also the mills had started repair work during the same period.

As per the news report published in Amarujala.com, Paropkar Singh, chief manager (sugarcane) of the Bilai sugar mill said, “We have completed 32 per cent of the repair and maintenance work and the mill will soon be ready for operations.”

Rahul Chaudhari, chief manager (sugarcane) of Bijnor sugar mill said that 30 per cent of repair work is completed and the mill will start operations as per schedule.
