BKU (Bhanu) demands pending cane dues of farmers

Haridwar, Uttarakhand: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU Bhanu group) have demanded that they should get cane dues in time as well as the farmers in the state should get the electricity free, reports Live Hindustan.

A delegation of farmers led by the organisation met district collector Vinay Shankar Pandey and handed over the memorandum of their demands addressed to the chief minister Pushkar Sinh Dhami.

K P Singh, the national spokesperson of the organisation, said that farmers are facing financial problems as they have not received their cane dues in time. State government should ensure that the mills clear pending cane dues of farmers, he said.
