Telangana: BRS candidate slams Congress over Nizam Sugar Factory revival

Jagtial: Bajireddy Goverdhan, BRS’ contender for Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency alleged on Tuesday that the Congress party was was bluffing by promising to reopen the Nizam Sugar Factory.

Addressing a campaign gathering alongside ZP chairperson Dava Vasantha, BRS district president K Vidyasagar Rao, and others in Mallapur, Goverdhan highlighted that the previous BRS administration had initiated a committee to address the sugar factory matter. Led by former minister J Ratnakar Rao, with Vidhyasagar and himself as members, the committee had already endorsed a resolution for the factory’s privatization.

He pointed out that senior Congress leader and MLC T Jeevan Reddy had endorsed the resolution. Goverdhan accused the Congress of orchestrating a new theatrical performance concerning the sugar factory. He criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy as a disciple of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and a covert supporter of the BJP. He also challenged Jeevan Reddy, representing the graduates MLC segment, to disclose his achievements for graduates.

Goverdhan pledged to establish a Kendriya Vidyalaya and a textile park if elected as MP.
