Central Team Currently On Tour Of State To Submit Its Report On Prevailing Drought Condition To The Union Government Next Week

Kalaburagi, Feb 28 (UNI) The Central study team currently on tour of Karnataka to study prevailing drought condition in the State will be submitting its report in March first week.

Union Ministry of Rural development Joint Secretary Dr Suparna Pachauri and others who arrived here on Thursday to study the impact of drought during the Rabi season said that the team will submit its findings to the Union Government in the first week of next month.

The team headed by Dr Pachauri and Dr Shalini Sakshena and Mr R B Kaul are touring the Kalaburgi and Bidar district drought affected villages to assess the crop loss incurred during rabi, the central government had formed three teams, which will conduct survey of crop loss and collect appeals of the farmers during the visit . The team already visited Raichur and Yadgir Districts yesterday.

Kalaburagi District administration has assessed Rs 110 crore crop loss in the districts.
