Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will announce hike in SAP very soon: UP Minister Suresh Rana

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’ Sugarcane Development Minister Suresh Rana said that the state government will soon announce the hike in the state advisory price (SAP) of sugarcane for the next crushing season.

Speaking with media persons in Lucknow, Rana said that issue is under the government’s active consideration. Also, the discussion regarding the hike in SAP with the stakeholders including sugar mills and sugarcane farmers are underway.

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will soon announce the new SAP very soon,” he further added.

The government has not hiked SAP for cane for the last three years and the existing SAP is Rs 325 per quintal for the early variety and Rs 315 per quintal for the unapproved variety.

Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that we will work to make sure timely payments are made as well as to increase the price of sugarcane.
