Coronavirus fears grip market; Market ends lower

Mumbai: Market ended lower as investors globally were increasingly anxious about the economic impact of China’s new coronavirus.

Sensex closed on January 27 at 458.07 points lower at 41,155.12. Similarly, Nifty ended 129.25 points down at 12,119.00.

Vedanta, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Hindalco and IndusInd Bank were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Dr Reddy’s Labs, M&M, Cipla, UltraTech Cement and Eicher Motors.

Sensex closed on January 24, 2020 at 226.79 points higher at 41,613.19. Similarly, Nifty ended 67.90 points up at 12,248.25.

The rupee is trading at 71.490 against the dollar.
