Covid-19 impact: Karnataka government bans celebration from December 30 to January 2

As the threat of coronavirus pandemic looms over, the Karnataka government has decided to ban the celebrations at hotels pubs and at Public places from December 30 to January 2.

The government has issued notices barring the gatherings at such places owing to the coronavirus threat. Also, guidelines issued for barring people from making shake hands and hugging each other during the celebrations.

The order by Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar said, “Keeping in mind public health, there is a need to celebrate Christmas and New Year in a simple and meaningful way. In the wake of this mass parties have been banned across the state at public places, establishments and places where large crowds gather without maintaining social distancing.”
