Domestic Market

Sugar prices traded stable

Domestic sugar prices were reported to be stable on subdued demand. Rainfall activity over the major cane growing regions of Maharashtra and North Karnataka was reported below normal. In Kolhapur, S grades were priced between Rs. 3,480 and Rs. 3,520, while M grades were priced between Rs. 3,630 and Rs. 3,660.

According to AgriMandi.live, S grade is expected to cost between Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,550 per quintal in Kolhapur markets.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $677.80 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 23.54 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 82.143 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.8194, Crude futures traded at ₹6166, Crude WTI traded at $75.52 barrel. Sensex closed 223.94 points lower at 65393.90 whereas Nifty ended 55.10 points lower at 19384.30
