Deadline for farmers to repay crop loan extended till July 31

Mumbai, Maharashtra: In a relief to farmers, the deadline to repay crop loans has been extended. Cooperation and Marketing Minister Balasaheb Patil said, “The deadline for farmers to repay crop loan issued by district central cooperative banks, commercial banks and rural development banks has been extended till July 31.”

As per a news report published in indianexpress.com, Patil said, “Covid-19 pandemic has affected the farmers. During April and May, farmers suffered in selling their produce. Also, many sugar mills have not cleared the pending cane dues to the farmers. So, considering all these aspects and in the larger interest of the farmers, recovery of crop loan by banks has been extended till July 31.”
