Egypt: GASC buys 250,000 metric tonnes of sugar

Cairo: Egypt’s state grains buyer, GASC, increased its purchase of raw sugar to 250,000 metric tons from an earlier estimate of 200,000 metric tonnes. The shipments are expected to arrive between May and July, reported Reuters.

The traders had estimated the arrivals to be in June and July, with the following breakdown for the purchase:

Arrival between June 15-30:

50,000 MT from Viterra at $505 per MT

50,000 MT from LDC at $505 per MT

Arrival between July 1-15:

50,000 MT from Viterra at $500 per MT

50,000 MT from Tereos at $500 per MT
