Equity indices recover dramatically after trading halts for 45 minutes; Sensex ends above 34,100

Mumbai: Equity benchmark indices staged the biggest ever intra-day recovery on Friday afternoon after hitting a 10 per cent lower circuit.

Sensex closed on March 13, 2020 at 1,325.34 points high at 34,103.48. Similarly, Nifty ended 365.05 points high at 9,955.20.

In the previous season, Sensex closed on March 12, 2020 at 2,919.26 points lower at 32,778.14. Similarly, Nifty ended 868.25 points low at 9,590.15.

State Bank of India, Tata Steel and HDFC are the top gainers while SBI, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank are the most active stocks.

The rupee is trading at 73.830 against the dollar.
