The Principal Secretary, Excise, UP, Shri Sanjay R Bhoosreddy, has directed all the officers and employees of excise department to literally follow the provisions of UP Government Servant Conduct Rules, 1956.

In a GO sent to the Excise Commissioner, the Principal Secretary stated that it had often been noticed that the departmental officers and employees were not following the provision of Government Servant Conduct Rules in letter and spirit. He said that representations were being submitted at government and other levels on behalf of family members regarding service matters and cancellation of or amendment in transfer orders, contrary to the process laid down for this purpose. Such conduct is a blatant violation of the UP Government Servant Conduct Rules, 1956.

Mr. Bhoosreddy has asked the Excise Commissioner to ensure that the officers and employees strictly follow the UP Government Servant Conduct Rules, 1956, especially its rule-27 and 27 (A) regarding their service matters and transfers. He also directed the commissioner to get uploaded the provisions of these rules on the departmental website/portal.

The Principal Secretary said that punitive action like suspension would also be considered, under the relevant provisions of UP Government Servant (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1999, against the officers and employees not complying with this order.
