Farmers agitation for higher FRP will shift to Bengaluru

Farmers agitating in Mysuru and other centres for higher Fair and Remunerative Prices (FRP) for sugarcane will be now agitating in Bengaluru from November 22, reports The Hindu.

Kurubur Shanthakumar, president of the Karnataka Sugarcane Cultivators Association said that the farmers will stage a 24X7 agitation outside the residence of the Chief Minister.

Shanthakumar lashed out at the State government for adopting delaying tactics in announcing an higher FRP. “Farmers are agitating for their demands for the last four months but the government is using dilatory tactics,” he added.
