Saharanpur: A virtual meeting was held to discuss the sugarcane farmers issue. In a meeting, Pradesh Mukti Morcha’s president Bhagatsingh Verma asked the government to raise the sugarcane price. He urged the government to fix the price at Rs 600 per quintal considering rise is sugarcane production cost.

He said, “The prices of all the commodities including pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers and all others have been increased which has increased the input costs for cane cultivation. However, the government has not taken into consideration these issues while fixing the cane purchase price. We want the government to take note of our demands and hike the prices.”
